10 gigabit ethernet - Add on question

It has to be 10Gb, for HPC environment.

I have found that Dell officially supports Intel's 10Gb card as well as
NetXen.

Dell Engineers, do you know if Myricom's 10Gb or Neterion's 10Gb product
are being evaluated / tested now? Is there expected to be support for
these controllers in the future?

I would imagine support for such product would be similar to Infiniband
HCAs now.

Are you really looking for 10 Gb or are you looking for "more than 1
Gb"? Two to three GB is easily achieved by teaming more Gb nics.
Downside is that you can't go above 1 Gb in a single stream/connection.
I recently asked quotes for the 10 Gb cards (be advised that you need
special wiring, at least with the 1950/2950 range) and for the quoted
price I could fill up all slots with dual port Gb nics, easily.

I would also be curious which OS flavor and hardware combination you
would
need to actually put a sustained 10gbps onto the wire.

Which card(s) are best supported by Dell and Dell's Linux team for 10Gb
Ethernet support?

I am also looking for possible implementation of FCoE, Virtualization
support, and PCI-E, PCI-X, and low profile solutions.

Thanks,

Jim
