Hi,
Did you upgrade to your latest BIOS as well?
How is the NIC configured in the BIOS?
If you are not going to use Boot From iSCSI make sure Boot From iSCSI is turned OFF. You will find the settings under integrated devices in the BIOS (F2).
If you are planning to use BootFrom iSCSI this is how it works for Windows. I have no hard facts on a Linux implementation. configure the ip and iSCSI settings in the NIC (CTRL+S) and then configure your OS to use DHCP. With recent enough drivers it will pick up the settings in the NIC and assign the IP address you assigned in the NIC Configuration tool (CTRL+s)
If this does not help I hope you have a second PE2950 that you did not flash yet?
If you run the firmware update package with the --extract <destination dir> option you will find an executable "lnxfwupg" which can be used to backup the firmware as well. So if you have another working system you can get your FW from that using the dumpnvram <filename> option and then use the restorenvram <filename> option to flash it into the NIC in the system you cannot get to work. (When you run the lnxfwupg tool you will get a new prompt, you must also make sure you select the correct adapter to dump/restore to...)
