PERC4e/di manuals, non-array drives

I've searched Google and the Dell website high and low and can't find
any manuals for a 2850, other than installation guides. Anyone know
where I can find the manual for the PERC4e/di controller?

Also: I need to add a single drive into the machine and simply have it
appear as a bare drive to the kernel. The drive cannot have any
RAID controller MBR/superblocks/etc on the drive- it needs to be
transplanted into another machine later. This appears to be
impossible? I added a drive, and there were no kernel
messages...nothing showed up after a reboot except a configured array.
I was unable to find any suitable config options in the PERC BIOS,
and the only way I could get a single drive to be an "array" was to
add it to a one-drive RAID1 set; I couldn't do JBOD. Does the PERC
store its config purely in NV/flash ram on the controller, and I'm
being needlessly paranoid? Gee, it'd be nice to have some
documentation on this.

FYI, for anyone at Dell listening- still down, still can't get any of
the drivers or OpenManager working on my CentOS 5.1 64bit install.
