You can create a 1 drive RAID 0 which will have the same effect as if it
were a JBOD.

Subject: adding disk to PE2950 with Perc 5/i
Hi,
We have a poweredge 2950, with a perc 5/i that is configured with an
existing RAID 5 array with 5 physical disks in it (so there is one spare
slot on the disk bays). We want to put another disk in the spare slot
and configure it in 'JBOD' mode, i.e., just as a plain disk, not part of
any existing array. We have tried (in a test environment) , but the Perc
firmware only allows the disk to be added as a hot spare to an existing
array. Does anyone know if it is possible to add a disk in this way?
Regards,
Campbell
