Expanding a Perc5i Raid5

Hi

I have been trying to expand a Raid5 Logical Drive attached to a Perc5i
controller (RHEL5 x84_64).
The Logical Drive initially contains 3 750 GByte Sata disks (1.5 TByte size)
I added an additional 750 GByte disk and extended the Logical Drive on
this Disk using OMSA
It works fine, and after 25h I had a 2.25 TByte Logical Drive.

fdisk still only sees the 1.5 TByte, until I restarted the system.
Is it possible to reread the new Logical Drive size during runtime
(blockdev --rereadpt did not work)?

After the repoot, fdisk sees the new size.
I had three partitions on the device (sda1-sda3)
If I try to add an additional partition, I have only been able to add
one with a size of 0 block.
It seems that the new blocks can not be accessed by a partition tool
(tried fdisk, sfdisk, parted).

Could it be a problem, that the new device nowis bigger then 2 TByte?
I thought, that it should be possible to add a partition up to 2 TByte,
but I can not add even a small partition.

If the device is now bigger then 2 TByte , is there a way to relabel it
as GPT in oder to use the whole space without loosing the existing
partitions?
The device was labeld as dos during the installation...

Regards

hansjörg
