Consistency check, Drive 0 failed?

Hi Frank,
My advice would be to leave the array alone until it has completed its rebuild,
and see what the status quo is at the end - that way you will be able to get a
better idea if a disk is dead, or if it has just fallen out of synch.
My second piece of advice is that if I was in your shoes and was not completely
happy with the options, settings, and way of doing things in either the PERC
Bios or in OMSA Storage Manager, then I would give the nice chaps at server
support a call and get them to hold my hand. This has a double benefit - They
can hopefully give you the best advice to solve the problem without any server
downtime or data lost, and if they do get it wrong, you have followed protocol,
CYA, and its their fault not yours when the CEO starts shouting ;)
Richard

Ok, so I was in Openmanage and decided it would be a good idea to do a
consistency check on my vdisk. Good idea? I dunno, you tell me, I'm a
raid n00b.
Not 10 seconds after I started the check, Drive 0 failed, hotspare is
building, here is my /var/log/messages in relation:

So does this mean that drive 0 is actually dead, or is this part of the
process? If it has really failed I can replace it, I just need to know
that what I'm seeing isn't just a test on the drives themselves and the
raid recovery process.
Thanks, Frank
