2950 Broadcom bonding and optimization

   Does anyone have experience to share about bonding the two Broadcom
NetXtreme II BCM5708 Gigabit Ethernet ports together in Linux?  I'd like to
see some discussion about optimal performance parameters.  The cards have
quite a few configurable parameters, as does the kernel and the bonding
module.  Getting them all set to good values requires some expertise which I
am lacking.  
   My server will be hosting large files (from a 29-disk MD10000-based SATA
RAID5 array) to a hand full of local Gigabit clients via HTTP.  Presently,
I've bonded the two nics together in bonding-alb.  Any recommendations or
personal experience would be welcomed.
