I've renamed bios_dev_name to biosdevname (to make it easier to
package in Debian/Ubuntu), and have released version 0.2.1 with RPM
spec files that build on Fedora, RHEL, OpenSUSE, and SLES. This is
submitted as Fedora review request
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=254048 and added
to the OpenSUSE Wishlist http://en.opensuse.org/Wishlist_Base. Based
on acceptance there, I'll pursue inclusion in the respective
Enterprise distros. I started Debian packaging, but I'm really not an
expert at that, so assistance would be gratefully accepted.
Based on feedback on the linux-hotplug-devel list, this is a
standalone app that requires udev, and acts as a udev helper, but is
not included in udev.
biosdevname is released under the GNU GPL v2.
