Comparing IOPS on a dell 1950 SAS versus md1000 and md3000

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone had any input here. I'm looking at increasing
the performance of our database I/O. currently it's on a 1950 raid-1
configuration. I was looking at getting a md1000 or possibly an md3000
but wanted to know if the speed gain warrants the price. The disk I/O
seems to be the major bottleneck right now and is a growing concern in
our *corner* offices. 

Has anyone else ever gone through this scenario? Thanks for any input,
it'd me greatly appreciated.
