It's not because of your lack of X. It's because Fedora isn't officially
supported by Dell.

When I tried installing OpenManager on a FC7 system with no X windows
installed it just bombed out... No error message, nothing. It just
exited back to the shell.

The OMSA install script allows you to choose the GUI as an option. If
you don't select it, you get a CLI only installation.

Dell, I am wondering if I can utilize the Dell OpenManage software on a
Poweredge 1950 through just the CLI? I have Fedora 7 on some of our
systems without xwindows, only the CLI. (No GUI) Can I install and then
utilize (see hard drive stats or RAID configurations etc...) from the
terminal window command line? Any link or information about this would
be helpful. I tried to google it but most of the links say "yes. You can
do openmanage with Linux but don't tell me if I can manage it and gather
information with the CLI only.) They all seem to point to installing it
and then viewing/managing it through a web browser.
