Best OS for an old PE2550?

Thanks for replying, I've been too busy lately to reply to all the  
other people that responded with their suggestions. The fall semester  
starts next week! So, thanks everyone for your suggestions and comments.

I tried FreeBSD first but found it wasn't to my liking. I did end up  
downloading and installing CentOS , which seems to work very well.  
I've got one PE2550 at home, the others need to be picked up from the  
donor.

Now I just need to find a FC HBA that will work with the FibreVault  
units we were given.
