Dell 1425 IPMI Troubles

I'm trying to find my notes as I've not done it in a while...
But with dhcp enabled do from the local box
ipmitool print lan 1
Then do your static settings and do the print again and see what is and
is NOT set.
The one thing I don't see is a ipmitool set lan 1 ipsrc static
which you'd need to do first.

Subject: Dell 1425 IPMI Troubles
Hello,
I did some light searching in the archives and didn't quite find an
answer to a problem I seem to be having..
To set the IPMI LAN settings I do this from RHEL4 running on a 1425 we
have:
ipmitool set lan 1 ipaddr 10.0.0.2
ipmitool set lan 1 netmask 255.255.255.0 ipmitool set lan 1 defgw ipaddr
10.0.0.1 ipmitool set lan 1 password blah ipmitool set lan 1 access on
ipmitool user set password 2 blah
Then, when I try to send a command over a machine with the IP address of
10.0.0.3, I get:
Get Auth Capabilities command failed
Error: Unable to establish LAN session
ipmi_lan_send_cmd failed to open intf
Get SEL Info command failed
The network cable is plugged into the first NIC port on the machine.
Now, here's the interesting part to my dilemma: If I set the BMC to get
an IP via DHCP (which succeeds), then I can do everything just fine. I
just can't seem to get the BMC to use a static address.
Has anyone seen this problem or know of a path to go down to see why
it's not exactly working?
The machine is running RHEL4, kernel version is 2.6.8-42.0.10ELsmp, and
the OpenIPMI packages are at the latest release (1.4.14-1.4E.17).
Thanks!
