Megaraid issues? on PE 6450

A customer of mine recently bought this server:

I'm trying with the latest SuSE release, but I've also tried Gentoo 2006.1, Kubuntu 7.04, trying
different kernel parameters, setting from I2O to Mass Storage, etc. But it just hangs at some stage
after booting. I really I'm desperate because I don't have physical access to the machine, and my
customer is not linux-savvy. We've managed to get some results, but nothing working so far :(
