Hmm... there is a bit in DMI table that gives a small reason-code. I
don't have code to check.

Can you manually run the dellBiosUpdate executable and send the results? 
  # modprobe dell_rbu
  # dellBiosUpdate -u --hdr /usr/share/firmware/bios/...path..to../bios.hdr
