Heads-up: OMSA 5.2 coming to the yum repo

Everybody,

    Dell OpenManage Server Administrator version 5.2 started shipping
from the Dell factory today. It will be available from the
support.dell.com download site later today as well. I intend to update
the Dell yum repos, both the software repo and the recently-announced
hardware-specific repo, within the next two days.

    Here is my plan: I will be adding OMSA 5.2 to the Dell Software
repository at http://linux.dell.com/repo/software/ later today or
tomorrow. In parallel, I will be adding OMSA 5.2 to the individual
hardware-specific repositories at http://linux.dell.com/repo/hardware/.

    For the next version of OMSA, version 5.3 (to be released at a much
later date), I will *only* be making it available in the
hardware-specific repositories. The reason for this is that OMSA
occasionally drops support for older platforms, and by putting OMSA in
the hardware-specific repositories, I can ensure that each platform only
gets the latest supported version of OMSA for that platform. 

    For the above reason, I encourage people to start testing out the
hardware-specific repositories to ensure that there are no remaining
glitches in this repo setup/concept.

    I will send out a notification when this update has happened.
