did you read this page...
http://linux.dell.com/monitoring.shtml

And most important see the link to this page Dell IPMI implementations
by platform (http://linux.dell.com/ipmi.shtml)? That has specific
referances to the x9xx series that need to be followed for it to work.

Fedora C5

Dell PE 1950

Modprobe.conf:

alias eth0 bnx2

alias eth1 bnx2

alias scsi_hostadapter megaraid_sas

[

*	I did modprobe the ipmi_devintf OK. So, I am confused as to why
the ipmi_si did not load.

Any more thoughts?

Thanks!

not enough details to really know where to start you need to provide:

Server model, any boot parameters and modprobe.conf settings to start.

That error can happen on kernels in the 2.6.10 - 16 range in the x8xx
family without specific boot and modprobe settings. But that is a wild
guess at this point.

Hi, I have followed the threads on OMSA not starting, I too, am having
difficulty.

Starting Systems Management Device Drivers:

Starting dell_rbu: Already started [ OK ]

Starting ipmi driver: [FAILED]

When I modprobe ipmi_si I get the following error (below), even though
the ipmi_si.ko in the location identified in the error message.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!
