Looks like I was mistaken. OMSA only survived until I rebooted the
machine.
Now when the init script "instsvcdrv" tries to start, I get this:
=====================================================
root at biege:~# /etc/init.d/instsvcdrv restart
Stopping Systems Management Data Engine:
Stopping dsm_sa_eventmgr32d: *
Stopping dsm_sa_datamgr32d: *
Stopping Systems Management Device Drivers:
Starting Systems Management Device Drivers:
Starting ipmi driver: *
Starting Systems Management Data Engine:
Starting dsm_sa_datamgr32d: *
touch: cannot touch `/var/lock/subsys/dataeng': No such file or
directory
Starting dsm_sa_eventmgr32d: *
touch: cannot touch `/var/lock/subsys/dataeng': No such file or
directory
=====================================================
The asterisk next to "Starting ipmi driver" is red, which I'm assuming
means "failed".
When I do a "lsmod | grep ipmi", I get no results.
When I try to load ipmi_si, I get this:
=====================================================
root at biege:~# modprobe ipmi_si type="kcs" ports="0xca8" regspacings="4"
FATAL: Error inserting ipmi_si
(/lib/modules/2.6.15-28-server/kernel/drivers/char/ipmi/ipmi_si.ko): No
such device
=====================================================
I'm going to do some more research tonight. I hope someone here has
been down this path and give me some guidance.
