You can add them to too seperate Concat or "volume" drives. However,
Dell does recommend that you back up your data before proceeding since
these drives may not be properly initialized for the RAID controller to
be able to use them and the initialization process would result in data
loss.

Subject: Quick Perc 3di RAID question
I saw some posts from last year about converting PowerEdge SCSI drives
to a RAID config
I'm having trouble finding any help on this, and even if you could point
me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it
I have a Dell PowerEdge 2500SC running Windows 2000. It has 2 drives in
the SCSI config in the BIOS. I recently bought the components to active
the embedded PERC 3i RAID, but it says I'll lose my data when I try to
activate even though though the documentation says I may lose some data
and not definitely lose data
Can I just activate the RAID option and add the drives to an array
without having to start over again? Or do I have to rebuild the
machine?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
