Here is the contents of my pxelinux config with regards to RHEL AS 4 -
Update 3 - 64bit. I've used it to install on a 2800, 2850, 6800, 2900,
and 1900 so it should work.
LABEL rhel4u3x64
KERNEL /linux-install/rhel4u3x64/vmlinuz
APPEND initrd=/linux-install/rhel4u3x64/initrd.img ksdevice=eth1
network ks=nfs:192.168.0.1:/datashare/redhat/RHEL4/Update3x64/ks.cfg
So in other words I would get rid the ramdisk kernel options and see if
that takes care of it. If not I would make sure that the initrd is
getting loaded properly.

Subject: kickstarting a 6850 with Redhat AS4-U2 - 64 bit version
Does anyone know of any tips or tricks with kickstarting a 6850 with
Redhat AS4 - U2 - 64 bit version?
We have successfully installed the OS using the Dell Server Assistant
CD, but apparently Oracle 10g takes issue with the way the logical
volumes get created.
We've used the acpi=off nousb, and fiddled with the mem settings - had
16 gig, took out one back - down to 8 gig, and tried mem=3800 in the
pxeboot.cfg/default file.
The acpi got us past one system lockup but now complains about the
ramdisk...
[root at prmgsa01 pxelinux.cfg]$ cat default
default install
label install
kernel vmlinuz.AS4.0-64bit-U2
append acpi=off nousb mem=3800 dd initrd=initrd.img.AS4.0-64bit-U2
network ks=nfs:
192.168.64.36:/kickstart/AS4.0-64bit-U2/RedHat/ks.cfg.dvcsdb02
ksdevice=eth1 load_ramdisk=1 ramdisk_size=10000
The error we're getting now is:
RAMDISK: Couldn't find valid RAM disk image starting at 0.
VFS: Cannot open root device "<NULL>" or unknown-block(8,18)
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on
unknown-block(8,18)
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
