OMSA also allows for this. Simply replace the disk then type

'omconfig storage vdisk action=assigndedicatedhotspare controller=0
vdisk=0 adisk=0:2 assign=yes`

This will add the new disk as a hotspare and cause an autorebuild of the
drive.

I've discovered that dellmgr permits recover hdd while the server
remains online. I'm rebuilding the disk with this application You only
have to type dellmgr on the command line
