Internal clock running too fast

I have a brand new PE850, where cron runs a daily job which synchronize
the local time with an NTP server.
Every day I get something like this:
6 Sep 05:00:14 ntpdate[10174]: step time server 193.204.114.105 offset 12.781591 sec
12 seconds every day! Other servers usually show a time difference of
about a couple of seconds, no more.
Is this shifting normal (i.e. other users have the same "problem"), or
should I be worried about?
Regards.
Alessandro
