Hi,

Thanks for your reply Robert, I am extremely new to debain but I can sense
that you are saying that debian etch can be installed in those servers with
sas 5/I controllers with help of megaraid_sas module.

The ISO image which I am using for installing debian etch is:-

http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/daily-builds/daily/arch-latest/i386/iso-cd
/debian-testing-i386-netinst.iso

Will this Debian etch version work? Or is there any other specific procedure
/ iso image I need to get and follow? Please help/

Regards,
Prajyot Shirsolkar

To my understanding, it should be supported using the megaraid_sas kernel
module. I am not sure which vanilla linux kernel version the support for
this particular controller was added to. Can anyone chime in her for
details
on that? When you boot from the etch installer, it should automatically
find
your hard drives. If it does not you may need tell it to probe for the
megaraid_sas module. After that you should be able to partition and install

Debian.
