need help with tape backup

   Well I have the compression working now with the dump -z2 command. 
What I have learned though is this:

   It works with AIT-2 tapes but not with AIT-3 tapes.  The unit is a
SDX-700V.  It supposedly works with AIT-3 tapes.   Any suggestions?
