www.nagiosexchange.org has heaps of great plugins for dell servers. I'm
using them to monitor server health and raid arrays on both windows and
linux.

I recently set SNMP monitoring on 1850s and 2850s.  At the moment
I am monitoring them using MRTG, but I have plans ...

This should provide enough information to adapt a cactus or nagios
script
to monitor temperatures, fans, cpu load.
