Extending swap + / fs ?

I have also gone through the process of extending LVMs and then
expanding the filesystem with ext2online without any trouble, while the
system is online. As someone mentioned before, you should perform a
backup before you attempt this, but it is a fairly well-tested method of
increasing disk space. I dont really see any reason to create a seperate
partition on the same disk and move everything over, unless you are
concerned about your / filling up.
