I/O error crash poweredge 6600 debian

Hello,
I've got a big problem on my dell poweredge 6600 - debian sarge 2.4.26nfs #1 SMP
Sometimes (once per 2 days), the server crashes (I have to shutdown and reboot with the power button).
There is a continuously repeated error on the screen:
I/O ERROR DEV 08:02 SECTOR 3179344*
* It's the same sector each time !
When i reboot, e2fsck runs but nothing special except some inode i_blocks errors (fixed)
There isn't any log about this I/O error.
Questions :
1) Does someone know anything about this kind of error ?
2) What can I do in order to avoid the crash when such an error occurs ?
