PERC 5/i and Booting to RHEL AS4 Update 4

A previous list poster asked how to boot directly from RHEL4 install
disks to install onto a PERC 5/i controller; the response back was to
use Update 3.
Well, I have a fine set of RHEL4 AS Update 4 disks (according to
/etc/redhat-release after the installer disk is done installing my
system...), and I cannot boot directly from the RHEL install disks. The
system didn't come with a floppy, so I can't just create a driver disk.
Any ideas? I feel uncomfortable sitting here with a system which won't
boot to a standard rescue CD.
