PE 6450 - Firmware update issue

Hi

We run FC3 on this rather ancient box and it is in need of a firmware 
update to the perc card. I downloaded this

RAID_FRMW_LX_R126654.BIN

as according to the support pages that was the update required for the 
perc3. The update results in this...

Can't flash the controller
PowerEdge RAID Controller 3/DC

anyone know why that might be and how i may proceed to allow this update 
to be applied? I did this within linux.
