setting up cmos clock

Could you please help with this?

We have a Dell Poweredge 1600SC running SUSE 9.2

It USED to work but after a power failure, it now hangs-up on boot at
"setting up cmos clock"

We Googled the error.  The best (only) suggestion was to install the latest
BIOS but it HAS the latest BIOS.

Any ideas?
