Hi

just run linttylog and it produces a text-output file tty.log in the
current working directory.

In our case we could identify the following error in this file.

ECC Error: Multi-Bit Read error from Secondary ATU, addr=d76f4940,
syndrome=f9 [bit=-1]
^MMulti-bit or overflow encountered (mcisr=1)...shutting down
^MTotal ecc errors encountered this boot=1

Greetings

Hello

I'm testing this package on ubuntu server dapper
hardware: dell 1955

the package installs correctly and after the installation 2 processes
are running:

/opt/dell/srvadmin/dataeng/bin/dsm_sa_datamgr32d
/opt/dell/srvadmin/dataeng/bin/dsm_sa_eventmgr32d

but i don't see any process listening on a port to connect to it with a
webbrowser.

looking in /opt/dell/srvadmin/iws/

it seems that this folder contains the webserver, when i try to start
it, it doesn't work

one error was that it was sourcing a file in
. /etc/sysconfig/omawsd.src
i modified this to
. /opt/dell/srvadmin/iws/bin/linux/omawsd.src

but it still doesn't work.
/opt/dell/srvadmin/iws# ./bin/linux/dsm_om_connsvc32d -clrun
status(-3)

i tryed stracing it , it doesn't fail in the same way, but doesn't work
either

any idea?

A bit of quick research shows this is a problem between either the card
and the bus or the cards processor and anther component. I would put in
a trouble call with dell directly on this one as this appears to be a
hardware failure/issue.

Hi,

probably you don't have the java runtime environment installed. You can
download it here:

http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp

I couldn't find where to configure the path where the dell-tool searches
for the libraries so i installed the java-package and copied the needed
libs to a /lib/-dir i found in strace-output (you probably didn't use
the option -f to follow child processes?!). These libs are needed:

jre1.5.0_09/lib/i386/client/libjvm.so
jre1.5.0_09/lib/i386/native_threads/libhpi.so
jre1.5.0_09/lib/i386/libjava.so
jre1.5.0_09/lib/i386/libverify.so

Additionally i had to install the debian-package lsb-base to get the
webserver to work.

Right now i'm stuck at the login as no password-combination is accepted.
Even changing password in iws.ini did not help.

I'll have a closer look at this if i can spare some time but maybe that
is already a help to you.

Thanks,
Moritz
