Debian/GNU Linux OMSA 5.1 package

I can reslove the hostname
ftp.sara.nl
but not
ftp.irc.sara.nl

Typo?  The source fails, since i can't resolve the host with irc in it. 
  Is something screwing going on with my dns, or should they both be 
ftp.sara.nl?
