After working on three PowerEdge 350 servers in the last week, I have come
to the conclusion that the cables are questionable on these systems.

a.	The PowerEdge 350 has 40pin ATA cables, instead of 80 pin UltraDMA
ATA/33/66/133 cables. UltraDMA production started in 1996
b.	After installing two identical Seagate 250GB HDDs in HD1 and HD2,
the PE 350 did not recognize the second drive on the cable

Next, I tried the short 80 pin cable that came in the Seagate box

c.	The PE 350 now recognizes both drives (two identical Seagate HDDs)
d.	Start RHEL install
e.	Go through disks 1-4, then disk 1, then reboot
f.	The monitor displays a blinking underscore
g.	Computer is unresponsive (no beeps)

p.s. Wonder why I ask so many questions about old stuff? My startup needs
big bang for small bucks and found that used Dell servers are the best
value.
