First do 
export MIBS=+[/TO/MY/MIBS]

[root at MYHOST ~]# export MIBS=+/root/mibs/Dell/10892.mib
[root at MYHOST ~]# snmptranslate -Td -OS 
alertAmperageProbeWarning TRAP-TYPE
-- FROM MIB-Dell-10892
VARIABLES { alertSystem, alertTableIndexOID, alertMessage, 
alertCurrentStatus, alertPreviousStatus, alertData }
