qlogic qla2xxx

Hi!

On a sles9 sp3 with 2.6.5-7.282-smp kernel (qlogic driver version
8.01.02-sles) with Qlogic HBA card model QLA2460
and ql2xfailover set to 0 connected via FC switch to NetApp FAS270c I can
see two LUNs with Direct-Access type
to access the same disk via two filer heads. And using simple hdparm -t
command I can get a raw estimate of the sequential
read speed. The first LUN gives about 6MB/sec consistently, the second LUN
gives numbers from 60MB/sec to 150MB/sec.
When ql2xfailover is set to 1, I see only one disk with 6MB/sec read speed.
I tried different versions of the drivers (8.01.04,
8.01.01) and even tried different HBA card (QLA 2340) and got the same
result. BTW, the hardware is Dell PE1950.

I'm confused with this slow performance and don't quite understand if it is
a software problem on linux side or hardware
problem or any misconfiguration on netapp side. Some other MSWindows
computers are connected to the same NetApp SAN
via Emulex HBA cards and they don't have any problems. Can anybody give me a
hint what could be wrong?

Thx!

Dmitriy
