The LD information is stored in NVRAM on the PERC as well as the disks.
This should be a pretty safe and straight forward thing to do.

Subject: Relocating PERC4 DC & Attached PowerVault220S
I am currently running Redhat ES 3 on a PowerEdge 6650. It has a PERC 4
DC raid controller with a PowerVault 220S attached in a Raid 5
configuration.
I would like to move the PERC and the Power Vault 220S to an 1850
running ES 4 and would like to keep the logical drive that is on the
220S in tact. Is the logical drive information stored on the PERC?
Should I be able to just move the PERC & PowerVault to the 1850, and the
Raid 5 logical drive will come up? Should the move be pretty straight
forward or could there be some issues?
Thanks,
David
