e1000 nic problem

If you mean you are seeing TRANSMIT TIMEOUT messages
in /var/log/messages then we've seen that before and never found a
solution. As far as I can tell Intel knows about it but has not gotten
around to fixing it. We switched to using Broadcom NICs for that very
reason.
