Linux AS 3 and PE 2650+PV220S -Problem request help

Hi,

Trying to install AS 3 on PE 2650 with PV220s attached ...controller on
2650 =3dc and PV =4di

We would like to install  AS 3 OS files on PE and data on PV  but the
AS3 while installing

recognises PV as sda and PE as sdb ...now  i installed all OS related
partitions in sdb (as per original plan of PE)  /boot, /,/home,/usr so i
would understand that by placing /boot in sdb ...does the grub(boot
loader) also reside in sdb WHEN all convetion is that Boot loader has to
be in first boot device sda 

Clarification appreciated
