Redhat Linux security updates.

Hello, 

 

Is there any way to remove red hat security updates without uninstalling the
complete package and then again installing it?

 

Redhat network (rhn.redhat.com) releases security updates to various
packages. As we apply them to the systems I am worried if something breaks,
then I need to remove and reinstall the package and in process loose all the
customization. 

Other option is to restore everything from tape, which is time consuming
option.
