Sorry I don't have any experience with it SLES 9 but I can tell you that
it works prefectly right out of the box on SLES 10. So if its possible I
just recommend waiting for SLES 10 to be released.

Subject: Xen initrd and RAID 10

Hi all,
We just got a PowerEdge 2850 with 6 SCSI drives set up in RAID 10. We
are using SLES 9 Service Pack 2, and would like to run Xen on it. SLES
installs and boots just fine. We have been able to install Xen binaries
for SLES 9 with no problem as well, and SLES 9 with Xen binaries boots
and runs guests domains just fine on a machine with an IDE drive. When
booting, however, we run into a kernel panic because the system can't
find /dev/sda. We have tried to put the drivers (megaraid and the scsi
kernel modules) into the initrd that Xen uses - to no avail.

Has anyone successfully gotten Xen running on a PowerEdge 2850 (or RAID
10 w/a PERC card)? Does anyone know how to configure grub and/or initrd
to boot Xen using a SCSI device as the root partition? Any other tricks
for setting up initrd properly?

Many thanks,

Eric
