We are planning to purchase a Poweredge 6800 from Dell. And we would like to
run Debian or Ubuntu on it. Before the purchase, we would like to know
whether Debian/Ubuntu can be successfully installed on the configuration we
chose:

The hardware configuration we are currently think about is:

1. Dual Core Intel Xeon Quad 7041 processors.
2. Primiary Controller: Embeded RAID - PERC4e/Di Embeded Intergraed
3. Hard Drive Backplane 1 x 10 hot plug SCSI Hard Drive Backplane
4. 146G x 2 15K RPM SCSI Hard Drive
5. Main Bay and Media Bay Drive Cage: All drivers attached to PERCE4e/DDi
RAID 1
6. 1x2 Media Bay
7. 300GB x 2 10K RPM SCSI Hard Drive Removable.

Anyone tried similar configuration with Debian/Ubuntu before? Will there be
any problem, especially for the hard drive controllers.

Thanks.

Regards,
Weirong
