Configuring DRACII on a PE2400 with CentOS 3.7

I would greatly appreciate anyone's help with configuring the DRACII
controller on my Dell Poweredge 2400 running CentOS 3.7. So far I have done
the following:

1) Updated the PE2400 including DRACII card, to latest firmware as specified
by the Dell website.

2) Installed the latest Dell Installation and Server Management CD v4.5 from
Dell, which seems to install the RAC admin utilities for DRACIII (not
DRACII).

3) Modified the racpci field in the /etc/init.d/racser script from
"1028:0008" to "101e:9063" based in the information provided by the lspci
command, which clearly shows the dracII device being detected.

4) As a result of the information provided by the lspci command, I also
modified the modules.pcitable file to include the correct values for the
DRACII vendor, device and class numbers, which are 0x0000101e, 0x00009063
and 0x00000880 respectively.

5) Created a rac0 device using the command 'mknod -m 644 /dev/rac0 c 170 0',
as recommended in one thread I read.

6) Forced the megarac module to load at startup by adding it to the
rc.modules file in the /etc directory.

After all of the above, the racser service starts OK as do all the other rac
services except racservc which fails (says drac card not present). But the
bottom line is I still cannot communicate with the drac card when using the
racadm commands as it always comes back saying the drac card is not present,
even if I'm just trying to reset it. The linux system detects the DRACII but
I just feel that none of the utilities I have a configured for the DRACII,
especially considering that the racser script has the wrong vendor and class
numbers. I've read in some places that there is a DRAC-Common-2.5.?? rpm
file somewhere but I'm dammed if I can find it on any site, including the
Dell.

Any help is appreciated.

Regards,

Ian
