Hi All,
I have a number of PowerEdge 2650/1750/1850/2850 servers running RHEL3u8 and
OMSA as installed from OMI-SrvAdmin-Dell-Web-LX-450-32-335_A00.tar.gz with
the new kernel 2.4.21-47.ELsmp. Following the running of up2date -uf and
reboot on two of the 2850s I saw this in /var/log/messages:
Jul 25 16:49:57 simak kernel: dcdbas: Dell Systems Management Base Driver (version 5.6.0-1)
Jul 25 16:49:57 simak instsvcdrv: dcdbas device driver loaded

and the following:
[root at simak root]# omreport storage vdisk controller=0

According to other identical machines not upgraded "(Not Available)" should
read "(Embedded)" and there's a lot of information now "Not Applicable". So
for some reason OMSA doesn't seem to recognise/isn't able to access the
embedded controller fully any more.
Given this all worked pre-kernel update I'm assuming something's gone screwy
somewhere. Does anyone have any ideas what else I should be looking for/how
I might go about fixing things? I'm not really keen on upgrading to OMSA
5.0 at the moment with so many other things in flux but a reinstall of 4.5
is fine.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Ben
