Depending on your controller model there may or may not be a battery.
Can you tell us which model of PERC it is?
Thanks,

Subject: Raid Problem PowerEdge 2400
Hello!
I've got an annoying problem with a Dell PowerEdge 2400.
I'm using Suse 10 on this machine.
The problem is, that Linux sets the filesystem to readonly after a kinda
random time.
I looked into the message files and found that there seems to be a
problem with the raid controller... (Adaptec Expandable Raid Controller)
"medium read write error"
after reading similar mails I tested the harddrives hoping to find a
malfunctioning one... but they all seem ok...
then I got the hint that there could be a bios battery that needs a
refresh... but again searching through all bios settings I did not find
anything...
so... is there a battery that may need a refresh? if, where could I find
the setting to do so?
or has anyone heard of a similar problem with this type of server?
I cannot write the exact error now, but if needed I will see to it...
Thanks in advance
h.a.
