Hi,

I've got a very strange problem and didn't find a solution yet.

I'm using a Dell PowerEdge 1850 Server with "Console Redirection" turned on.
The following parameters are
defined within the BIOS.

- - Console Redirection: Serial Port 1
- - Failsafe Baud Rate: 9600
- - Redirection After Boot: Enabled

- - Serial Port 1: RAC

The problem is that when the system boots and it reaches the time where grub
starts, grub displays the
lines:
"Press any key to continue" for 10 times and then does not go on with the
booting process...

If I turn off the "console redirection" the bootup process works fine and
grub starts fine, too.

With grub I use the following parameters at the beginning of menu.lst

# created by FAI
serial --unit=0 --speed=9600
terminal --timeout=10 serial console
timeout 10
default 0

my kopt parameter is the following one:
kopt=root=/dev/sda3 console=tty0 console=ttyS0,9600n8

I hope ;) that someone has an idea how I can solve this problem or tell me
what I did wrong.

best wishes
Sascha Schmidt
