I just got a nice new 2950 in today with RAID 10 across four 72 GB
drives. After installing the latest RHEL 4 ES and doing all the updates
(with the Dell Installation CD), the system pauses for about 40-60
seconds at the start of booting at this prompt:
Red Hat nash version 4.2.1.6 starting
Then, it goes on and shows these errors
sda: asking for cache data failed
sda: assuming drive cache: write through
sda: asking for cache data failed
sda: assuming drive cache: write through
I looked these up on a number of sites and couldn't find anything
conclusive - most people didn't get responses to their questions. A 1950
I just got yesterday also gives the same issue - that one had a Dell
pre-installed RHEL4.
The delay is a bit annoying but I just want to know that there aren't
any issues...
Thanks,
