hola guys.
I have been running a few 2850's for a year now, with debian sarge
and kernel 2.6.12.6.
They have been running great with no problems.
Last week one of them running postgres8 just freezed up. No errors in
RAC log, no errors in operating system.
I tried to connect to it via our ipkvm, witch just gave me "no video
signal" and i had to go to the RAC and powercycle them.
It came up, and have been working ever since.
But now another one of our 2850's frooze in the exact same way. No
errors, no logs nothing.
Happened 2 days in a row. So im suspecting something is buggy here.
The 2 2850's that have the problems, both run postgres8 with the same
kernel (compiled by me).
They run a mirror raid for the system and a raid0+1 for postgres data
with xfs filesystem (recomended for maximum postgres performance).
Recently we have been adding alot of hardware to the rack, so i
suspect that it might be an heating problem. But that should also
trigger an alert in the rac. Or am i way off here?
In the past i experienced simular problems with the 2650, then it was
a faulty raid controller. but i find it vierd that 2 raidcards on 2
servers breaks down in the same week ;) (im an optimist)
Have anyone been experiencing simular problems with the 2850's?
