Installing RHEL4 with PERC 5/i

Hello.
We just purchased a new PE2950 with the PERC 5/i RAID controller.
I've installed RHEL 4 using the Server Assistant CD, but honestly, the
install is extremely bloated, and the harddrives are not configured in
the way I need them to be.
Originally I tried to install using the Red Hat CD's (kernel 2.6.9),
but it doesn't recognize the PERC controller because it doesn't have
the megaraid_sas module it needs. I've also tried this with the
Fedora Core 4 and had the same luck.
I guess I have 2 questions. First, can I change the Open Assistant
install to change what I want installed (ie. no X, Gnome, KDE, etc.)
and the way it partitions the harddrive (ie. no one large LVM
partition with root and everything on it)? If not, anyone know how I
can get the native installer to recognize the PERC 5/i controller?
Thanks,
Mike
