First, I'm amazed that a 2950 works with that old kernel (2.6.9-5). Second, of 
course dell will support EL4 if it's updated to EL4u3 (or even recently out, 
u4).

This is of course only my personal opinion, but if dell caused me trouble 
because a normal (redhat blessed) updated then I wouldn't buy dell again...
