Generally because the CPU is newer than the kernel, and until
recently, Intel didn't have a consistent method that was future-proof
for determining this properly (for reporting purposes).  So, old
kernels might show the wrong value with new CPUs.  But its purely
cosmetic.

Try a recent version of x86info instead if you really care about
seeing the right value.
