What happened to my OMSA ? Updated info & more questions

Sorry for the top-posting folks, but I want to keep things in order even if
it is in reverse order.

A little more research on this warning message give this information from an
OMSA Messages Reference Guide dated July 2004. "Warning. The system
management BIOS does not contain a valid system management BIOS version 2.2
or higher, or the BIOS is corrupted." I am not sure that this makes any
sense since OMSA 4.5 was running fine before updating my kernel, but not
after. Some additional searching on Google and I found some references
where OMSA would not display (or query?) all sensor information because of a
conflict between the OMSA built-in IPMI driver and the Linux-kernel-provided
IPMI driver set. For the Dell gurus on the list, could this be what my
problem is? OMSA 4.5 was working fine, I updated my kernel from RHEL3U7 to
RHEL3U8. The kernel update therefore created a conflict between the two
IPMI drivers?

If this is the cause of my problem, is there an easy way to fix it without
re-installing OMSA? If I have do that I might as well upgrade to OMSA 5.0.
Where would find an rpm package of OMSA 5.0 to install? I am not sure that
I want to do the yum repository as I am a novice system admin for a small
company and have never done that before, but I am getting comfortable with
rpm installs.

Jeff
